Sawmills in America have an interesting history. The evolution of transporting logs via creeks and rivers soon gave way to trucks with trailers and railroads to get the logs from the forest to the mill. This need for a more efficient way of moving the material in our rapidly expanding country also found its way into the sawmills as well. The boom of lumber needs throughout spawned a boom in the advancement of machinery at the mills to expedite the processing of the raw lumber.  

 Modern sawmills today vary drastically in size and scale. From small, portable units widely available by the average consumer to multi-million-dollar operations used by large suppliers to the industry. As we are maneuvering through global warming, RTFI is moving to help reduce the carbon footprint of our logging operation. By utilizing a different type of logging machinery that is smaller in footprint, but very efficient in the procurement of the material, we minimize the impact of the removal process by targeting precisely which trees are cut avoiding the clearing of large swaths of land, maintaining the integrity of the green space.    

 As a leader in the timber industry, we are always striving to find new technology and methods to give our customers the best possible experience. We have focused on obtaining some of the most state-of-the-art equipment on the market today. Our latest machinery acquisition, while very popular in the European market, will be the only one like it in the United States. With this, we will be able to produce thousands of board foot of finished material into our custom manufactured home packages. 

Just as in the past the industry is growing in new ways and with it our sawmills are evolving to keep up with the new equipment and demand for a smaller carbon footprint. We are rapidly growing out of our current facility but still utilizing the space that we have while actively looking for a new opportunity within our community.
